GOLD Version of “Making History” Videogame

NEWBURYPORT, MASSACHUSETTS – June. 25, 2008 – Muzzy Lane Software today announced the GOLD version of its very popular World War II computer strategy game, MAKING HISTORY® The Calm & the Storm. The GOLD version is due out this summer and will be available as a digital download through the company and its distribution partner’s websites and traditional retail outlets. The MAKING HISTORY® Concurrent with this announcement, the price of the current version of MAKING HISTORY®: The Calm & the Storm has been reduced to $19.99.

MAKING HISTORY: The Calm & the Storm Gold is a turn-based strategy game in which players apply their strategic skills to forge the fate of their chosen nation during a time of looming crisis. The game experience of MAKING HISTORY will appeal to strategy players who enjoy open-ended games like Axis & Allies® and Civilization®, The goal of the game is not to replay history as it happened, but make your own. Historical starting points for each scenario set the scene; but from there, players experience completely open-ended, dynamic gameplay. Virtually any country is playable across a variety of the bundled scenarios with the GOLD version, or the downloadable user-developed scenarios, offering endless hours of gameplay.

"Since our initial release of MAKING HISTORY last year, we have listened to our player community and tried to include as many of their ideas as possible", says Dave McCool, Muzzy Lane President. "Once we released the MAKING HISTORY Editor, our players used it to create some very creative and fun scenarios. We were so impressed with their results that some of these player-made scenarios are included in the Gold Edition."

The new "Rise of the Reich" scenario is a direct result of community feedback. "Apparently everyone likes to play the bad guy", says McCool, "So we created a scenario that starts when Germany is still weak. Players get to build up their economy and military before they can begin their quest for global domination."

Some of the key features and game support added since the initial Making History release include:

MAKING HISTORY® GAMING HEADQUARTERS
The Making History Gaming HQ (www.making-history.com) offers complete support for players and scores of freely available content. Since launching six months ago, GHQ members have downloaded over 20,000 player-created scenarios, game art, and music, as well as uploading and sharing their own content. Community members have the ability to rate and review all the material on the site, get the latest news about patches and future games, and discuss all aspects of MAKING HISTORY in the community forum.

New Military Unit properties expand strategic play
Your military units now have both offensive and defensive properties, adding a whole new level of strategic play. Choose the right mix of forces to mount key offensives or dig in to defend against the blitzkrieg! Players now have more control over their military units. Rename your units, preset rally points and set waypoints for more tactical movement.

Players can play as ANY nation!
Always wanted to create a South American empire? Play as Brazil or Argentina! Like living dangerously? Play Romania and see if you can keep your nation from a ruinous alliance with Germany or the USSR.

The MAKING HISTORY® Editor
Create completely new nations and cities, set treaties, develop entirely new military units and research projects. Alter existing scenarios to suit your own play style.

Insurgency!
Watch your back as you conquer the world. Partisans may seize control of captured enemy regions unless you leave troops to garrison them.

Regional development now faster but more fragile
Regions can now upgrade defenses, transportation, and food production simultaneously and more quickly, but extended combat will reduce a region's transportation, food production and defenses.

Reckless spending can defeat you without a shot fired
Beware of overspending! Severe deficits slow production. New financial reports make it easy to see exactly how your treasury is being spent.

Improved performance
Overall gameplay performance is improved for single and multiplayer.

Expanded User Interface Map views
Get more detailed information about everything in the game by simply moving your mouse over it. New map views show regional food, transport and fortification levels across the globe at a glance.

The GOLD version of MAKING HISTORY: The Calm and the Storm operates on Windows 2000, XP and VISTA, requires a Pentium 4 processor or greater, 2 GB of hard disk space, 512 MB of system RAM and 64 MB of video RAM.
