Muzzy Lane Launches Program to Recognize Innovative Teachers
Wednesday, Feb 07, 2007
NEWBURYPORT, Mass., Feb. 07, 2006 - High School history teachers who wish to explore the educational impact of interactive video games are invited to compete in the 2007 MAKING HISTORY® Innovative Teacher Challenge from Muzzy Lane Software.
The program provides comprehensive support to teachers interested in using the MAKING HISTORY multiplayer strategy game and creates a platform for national recognition of their efforts.
"We want to acknowledge teachers who are helping to make educational games a part of mainstream curriculum," says Muzzy Lane vice president, David Martz. "One of the big things we learned in 2006 is that much of the innovation is being done by teachers who don't see themselves as trailblazers, just ordinary teachers looking to make a difference. This program is our way of supporting them and others who want to engage and motivate their students with new technology."
All participants in the Innovative Teacher Challenge who complete a results summary of their Spring semester experience with MAKING HISTORY will receive a gift certificate. In addition, all entries will be reviewed by Muzzy Lane with assistance from its academic board of advisors, and a grand prize of an all-expense paid trip to a national conference will be awarded to the most innovative entry.
Program participants will be eligible for numerous other prizes consisting of Tablet PCs and digital cameras. Completed class studies are due for consideration by Friday, April 20. Winners will be announced on May l. Visit http://www.making-history.com/edu/innovation for details and to register.
